Welcome to Martial Arts Gailtal – a private martial arts training group in the center of the district of Hermagor. Please note that we are not a professional martial arts gym or academy, but rather, simply a group of friends training together.
If you’re interested in martial arts and are travelling through the area, or if you’ve just moved here, feel free to send us an email! Previous martial arts experience is not required, however if you do have some experience already, it’s always appreciated if you show us a few of your favorite techniques.
Current training programs
We are looking for training partners to practice the following martial arts with:
Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for self defense
- Focused on grappling and ground fighting
- Striking and stand-up fighting is part of it to a certain extent
- Beginner-friendly, but can also be interesting for people with experience.
Krav Maga
Israeli self defense system
- Focused on striking and stand-up fighting
- Grappling and ground fighting is part of it to a certain extent
- Ideal for beginners
Luta Livre
Structured grappling gameplan for combat
- Focused on grappling and ground fighting
- Mixed with a little bit of stand-up fighting/striking
- Beginner-friendly, but more interesting for people with grappling experience
Striking
Striking techniques for stand-up fighting
- Techniques from Boxing/Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc.
- Additional striking techniques from our Krav Maga and Jiu-Jitsu programs
- Great addition to grappling, and also ideal for people who don’t (yet) like to grapple
…and more!
We frequently experiment with techniques from different martial arts, or try out new martial arts altogether.
- If you have a background in a different martial art than the ones mentioned, maybe you would like to show us some of your favorite techniques?
- You could also host a mini-seminar and introduce us to your art.
How we train
Our training group consists primarily of beginners and people with an intermediate level of experience. We are not martial arts experts or professional trainers – therefore we usually train using instructional videos (purchased or freely available) or curricula from professional providers.
Where we train
We currently have access to an old school gymnasium located in Reisach – here is a photo of the hall and the mats. The mat area is sufficient for about 2-4 people, but could be expanded if a larger number of people were to train here regularly. We always keep our eyes open for other possible training rooms/locations in the area as well.
Who can participate?
Adult women and men interested in martial arts/martial arts/self-defense. No previous knowledge is necessary and a wide range of fitness levels and age groups are welcome.
If you’d like to participate in training, please send an email to:
kampfsport@gmx.at – Markus Zametter
How much does participation cost?
The training is free of charge. This is not a commercial offer and there is neither a company nor any kind of formal organization for this purpose. We’re simply a private group of friends who want to train martial arts together.
Due to inflation we currently have to pay a fee being able to use the gymnasium. Therefore we’d like to try splitting the costs among the participants Our suggestion is to divide the fee that we’re paying (€ 10 per session) by the number of participants present. However, this is a voluntary donation – no one is obliged to pay anything.
Important: We value training that is as safe, injury-free and beginner-friendly as possible. However, there is always a possibility of injuries. Participation is at your own risk.
